Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has been released on bail after her legal representatives fulfilled the requirements set by the Lahore High Court.
According to reports in media, Kot Lakhpat Jail officials sent the release orders to Services Hospital for her signatures.
The Lahore High Court had granted Maryam Nawaz bail on Monday in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
The court had also ordered her to submit surety bonds worth Rs 10 million, deposit an additional sum of Rs 70 million and also surrender her passport.
Yesterday, Maryam Nawaz was not released from prison as the party failed to pay her surety bonds.
Her lawyer had informed the registrar of the Lahore High Court that documents pertaining to Maryam Nawaz’s bail had been completed. He had requested the registrar for instructions on how to obtain the bail bonds, but the registrar rejected the request of Maryam Nawaz’s lawyer, stating that the time of the federal court was till 3:00pm and all the judges of the accountability courts had left.
