Four political parties, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Muslim League - N (PML-N), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP), have boycotted recounting of votes in NA-249 Karachi.
The parties are of the opinion that the returning officer (RO) failed to provide the Form 45 and 46, and allege that the seal of the ballot bag was broken.
PML-N candidate Miftah Ismail told media that the RO did not give the Form 45 and Form 46, and also refused a full audit. According to Ismail, upon being asked why the first ballot bag brought in did not have seal, the RO said that it may have fallen down. Ismail said that it was not just PML-N, but the MQM, the PSP and the PTI have all decided to boycott the recount.
