The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced that the previously shared post from a different account of a similar name is fake. They further posted a correction of the tweet that had created misunderstanding among university students of the government education system.
"THIS IMAGE IS FAKE. PLEASE NOTE: HEC is addressing students’ concerns regarding online classes & exams BUT promoting students without examination is out of the question," the tweet said.

A tweet was earlier posted from a fake account of HEC, claiming that the online classes have been discontinued in educational institutions and all exams canceled because of Covid-19. It also said that all the students in universities will be promoted to next semester on the basis of their 'previous records'.
