Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that the government would soon come up with a “historic” package for the farmers of the country. Speaking to a visiting delegation of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from Sargodha, the PM reiterated his government's interest in improving conditions for those involved in agricultural activities.
A special sub-committee in the federal cabinet is reported to have been tasked with framing this agricultural package. The PM also took the opportunity to express his view that farmers growing some crops such as rice and sugarcane had benefited from the government's interest in their welfare.
