436 new cases of coronavirus were reported in Punjab on Monday, which is the highest number in a day. The total number of cases in the province has now risen to 1,816, according to the healthcare authorities.
577 of the cases were reported from quarantine facilities installed for pilgrims returning from Iran and 527 from members of the Tableeghi Jamaat returning from the Tableeghi Ijtema in Raiwind. 49 among the confirmed cases are prisoners, while 663 common people have been infected with the virus.
The partial lockdown in the province has been extended by the government till April 14, according to media reports.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced that 51 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the province. He appeal to the public to strictly adhere to the social distancing protocol.
