While demanding justice from Shireen Mazari, the activist said that Christian and transgender community has been subject to persecution in Pakistan since long. “Your [Shireen Mazari] urgent intervention is required to reassure us that Pakistan is for all,” he added.
The transgender community has been living a miserable life in Pakistan since long, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to media reports, almost 50 members of transgender community have been killed and more than 300 have faced sexual harassment and assault during the last four years only in KP. Apart from that, gender discrimination has forced the community to indulge in prostitution – that has exposed it to the hazards AIDS.
