No Space For Abbasi In PML-N: Suharwardy

Former prime minister and disgruntled Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has met party supremo Nawaz Sharif in London, seeking reconciliation, but there is no space left for him in the party anymore.

While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy said that Abbasi played the role of 'spoiler' in the PML-N, and he caused severe damage to the party.

He said that when Maryam Nawaz was appointed as chief organizer of the PML-N, Abassi staged a drama about his resignation to harm the party, adding that Abassi also criticized the premiership of Shehbaz Sharif.

Suharwardy said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government suffered damage from Abbasi when he formed a new political party named “Reimaging Pakistan.”

The analyst said that Abbasi had a plan to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), but a May 9 incident occurred that wrapped up the politics of the PTI and its chief Imran Khan. “Now Abbasi is an orphan politician, and he wants entry back into the PML-N,” he added.

“Nawaz has asked Abassi to keep his mouth shut in the media, and then we will see future courses of action,” Suharwardy said, citing sources.

The analyst said that Nawaz has shown a great gesture by meeting Abbasi, even though he made remarks against his daughter and brother in mainstream media.

While responding to a question regarding former army chief General (retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa’s statement that no action can be initiated against him, Suharwardy said that he is a culprit in the court of the nation. He said that Bajwa destroyed the country just for the sake of his extensions.
