'Nawaz Sharif is in high spirits': Maryam Nawaz tweets after visiting father at Kot Lakhpat jail
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif is doing fine and is in high spirits, daughter Maryam Nawaz tweeted on Thursday after visiting her father at Kot Lakhpat jail.

Sharif, who was sentenced to 7 years in prison in Al Azizia case by the Accountability Court on December 24, was visited by family members and party leadership today.

Maryam Nawaz tweeted after the visit that Nawaz was doing fine and was in high spirits. She also thanked PML-N supporters and Nawaz-faithful for their prayers and support.

Other PML-N leaders who went to visit Nawaz include Former Sindh governor Muhammad Zubair, Zahid Hamid, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Saira Afzal Tarar, Khurram Dastagir, Qamar-ul-Zaman Khan, Mian Marghoob and Rohail Asghar among others.

Speaking to the media, Khurram Dastagir said that Nawaz Sharif believed in rule of the people. He added that if the former prime minister is treated unlawfully, the PML-N faithful will raise their voice. "Rulers should stop being arrogant," Dastagir was quoted as saying by Geo.

Former Sindh governor Muhammad Zubair criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership calling it 'immature'.
