While the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has received great praise for opening the Kartarpur Corridor making it easier for Sikh pilgrims to visit Pakistan, there’s one person who does not seem too pleased.

Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman has criticized Prime Minister Imran Khan and PTI for opening Kartarpur Corridor. Fazl claimed that PM was trying to please his ‘foreign masters’ with such moves and that there was no need of opening routes for the people of India when India was closing its doors to Pakistan.

He also went on to say that Pakistan will pay price of the unilateral move which was made without taking the parliament into confidence. Fazl also said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was called a traitor for inviting Modi to the country, but the current premier (Imran) was opening corridors.
‘Strange that Afghanistan border is sealed but Kartarpur corridor is opened’
Earlier this week, Fazl had also criticized the PTI government. He said it was strange that the Afghanistan border was sealed, but ‘policy towards India has been softened’.

And people are not being nice to Fazl for his remarks.

Fazl has also opposed PTI’s decision to take legal action against Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) leaders and users believe that the JUI chief is just trying to build an anti-PTI/Imran alliance with other parties, who don’t show much interest.

It is clear that Fazlur Rehman and Imran Khan do not share a friendly relation, but differences aside, credit should be given where it's due and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) deserves credit for Kartarpur corridor opening and for taking legal action against TLP leaders and supporters.
