Pope Francis on Tuesday said that the Church must admit history of male domination and sexual abuse against women and children, otherwise it will only become a 'museum' for young generation.
He said if the Church does not repair its reputation, it will only be as good as a 'museum'. However, the Pope said that the church does not "agree to everything the feminist groups propose".
Some women’s groups seek a female priesthood. The Church has ruled this out, arguing Jesus chose only men as his apostles.

Francis made his comment in a 50-page 'Apostolic Exhortation' about a month-long meeting of bishops in October on the role of young people in the 1.3 billion-member Church.
He urged the younger generation to not feel disillusioned by the sexual abuse scandal and work together with priests and clergy to create a safer environment for everyone. He said the scandal was 'a tragedy' and that everyone must help the Church in this 'dark moment'.
In another booklet titled 'Christ Is Alive', Pope Francis puts emphasis on relationship between the Church and young people. He said more and more youth now feels alienated because of the Church's scandals but are also themselves suffering from different sorts of exploitation.

Throughout his booklet, Francis urges youth to help rebuild the Church.
Earlier this year, the Roman Catholic Church released statistics on sexual abuse. According to the report, over 600 people, 15 or under, were sexually abused by priests.
