Social media users have called out the Sindh government for posting a job advert that discriminates against the non-Muslim citizens of Pakistan.
In an advert published in Jang News by The Electric Inspector, Karachi Region-II, the government has specifically sought non-Muslim candidates for a sanitation job. The advertisement lists qualification criteria for other jobs, such as secondary education for the jobs of gatekeeper or 'qasid'. But for the sanitation job, being a non-Muslim is the only criterion.
In a similar instance in Aug last year, the Pakistan Army posted an advertisement last year in which sanitation jobs were reserved for non-Muslim residents only. The ad was modified after an uproar on social media.
