Sindh Minister for Human Settlement Ghulam Murtaza Baloch lost his life to Covid-19 on Tuesday after battling the virus for over 15 days. He was shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Karachi but could not recover from the illness.
Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah confirmed the news of his death and expressed grief over the loss of his colleague’s life.
He said that Baloch was a brave and diligent worker of the party and it will be difficult to fill the void created after his death.
Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab also offered his condolences.

He said on Twitter: "Haji Ghulam Murtaza Baloch, our colleague in #Sindh cabinet has passed away today. He was suffering from #Covid-19. He was a genuine political worker & a very polite and humble human being."
President of PPP in Sindh, Nisar Khuhro said that Ghulam Murtaza’s contributions to the party will be reminisced upon dearly. He also prayed for the loss of his co-worker’s life.
Provincial education minister, Saeed Ghani said that Baloch will be remembered always for his hard work and the contributions he made to PPP.
The minister had himself tweeted on May 14 after contracting the virus, asking people to pray for him.
