Pakistan India Peoples' Forum for Peace and Democracy’s (PIPFPD) Islamabad Chapter on Thursday organised a peace demonstration calling for de-escalation of tensions between Pakistan and India.
Many people, including journalists and human rights activists, attended the rally and chanted slogans calling for peace in the region.
The speakers included veteran peace and human rights activists Kishwar Naheed (PIPFPD Islamabad Chairperson) and Indu Mitha, along with Ijaz Khan, Tahira Abdullah, Rashida Dohad, Arshad Mahmood, Fauzia Shahid, Haaris Khalique, Aasim Sajjad Akhtar, and Ammar Rashid among others.
The participants condemned the Indian Air Force incursions, air strikes and bombings in settled districts of Pakistan. They also condemned the Pulwama attack that claimed lives of more than 45 Indian military troops.
Peace rallies were also organized in other cities, including Lahore and Karachi.
