‘Well done’: PTI takes bold step, charges Khadim Rizvi with sedition, terrorism
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has decided to take legal action against Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) and booked its top brass under sedition and terrorism charges. Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry announced PTI’s decision during a press conference earlier.

"The government has decided to take legal action against leaders of the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan. Khadim Hussain Rizvi, the leader of the TLP, has been charged under terrorism and sedition laws at the Civil Lines Police station in Lahore," Fawad said.

Apart from Rizvi, senior leader Afzal Hussain Qadri, Inayat Hussain Shah and Hafiz Farooq-ul-Hassan have also been booked.

The TLP had called for countrywide protests against Aasia Bibi’s acquittal by the Supreme Court. Not only that, the leaders had also uttered remarks against the state institutions, while tehreek supporters caused lots of trouble, including vandalizing public property in various parts of the country.

Rizvi was taken into protective custody last month after he had refused to call off another sit-in planned for November 25 in Rawalpindi.

The ruling government has surely taken a bold step by deciding to take action against Khadim Rizvi and other TLP leaders, and for that, they are receiving due credit.

‘Well done. Pakistan Zindabad’

‘Well done’ x2

‘I hope this state bravado is not short lived’

‘What a six. Front foot’: There is no end cricketing metaphors

‘No one is above the law’

‘A much needed step in the right direction’

While the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has taken a commendable step, the real challenge would be not to bow down to pressure that might lead due to the move. We hope PTI stands its ground firm and sends a strong message to all miscreants that no one is above the law.
