A 65-year-old member of Tableeghi Jamaat who died from coronavirus in Bannu on Tuesday had continued to visit the local mosque for prayers.
Journalist Izharullah took to Twitter to inform people about the recent death of Tableeghi Jamaat member due to coronavirus. The journalist revealed that the deceased had returned from the Raiwind Ijtema on March 20, and he was tested positive for coronavirus on March 26. “From March 20 to 26, he used to visit village’s mosque regularly for payer,” he added.

Izharullah said the local mosque has been sealed and the area has been turned into a quarantine facility. “The deceased also had regular contacts with his family included grandsons in the home and district admin is now looking into the whole village who offered prayers in the same mosque. A single person can transmit the disease to the entire village,” the journalist said.
The coronavirus cases of Tableeghi Jamaat members have emerged from all over Pakistan. The Sindh government on Monday confirmed that 94 members of the Jamaat have tested positive for coronavirus. The deadly virus was transmitted locally among the patients in Hyderabad’s Noor Mosque, where some 200 Jamaat members were quarantined last week.
Earlier, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat had said that all those who attended the Tableeghi Ijtema in Lahore must be tested for coronavirus. Bilal and Makki Masjid were also sealed in Islamabad after a number of Tableeghi Jamaat members, who were living there were diagnosed with coronavirus.
