Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has decided to have Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah's picture on the new 'Kafaalat card' being launched under the Ehsaas Programme. Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation Sania Nishtar took to Twitter to announce that the move is aimed at 'depoliticisation' of the initiative.

The new Kafaalat programme will provide Rs 2,000 monthly cash payments to seven million deserving women in the country. In the past, safety net initiatives under Benazir Income Support Programme (BISB) had the image of Benazir Bhutto for ten years. Later, the Pakistan Muslim League - N (PML-N) government put two picture on the card—Nawaz Sharif above and Benazir below.
