A Pakistani student who completed his Master’s from the London School of Economics has received an accolade for his work at the university, reported Geo News on Friday.
The student of the highly prestigious institute has received this award from FindAMasters, a database aimed at helping prospective Master’s students find Master’s degree programmes worldwide.
The student, Bilal Bin Saqib, has been bestowed with this honour for his contributions to the London School of Economics during his study at the institute. The award is titled, ‘Highly Commended Master’s Student of the Year 2019’.
According to FindAMasters, the award honours those Master’s students who are highly motivated and demonstrate exceptional competence and curiosity in their studies.
The London School of Economics’ (LSE) Students Union acknowledged and praised Bilal for this achievement. A statement released by the (LSE) Students Union said, “A big congratulations to your outgoing Postgraduate Students' Officer Bilal Bin Saqib for his recent award of highly commended masters student of the year! Bilal has worked so hard to give back to the LSE community throughout his time here and we're very proud to see that his efforts have been rewarded. Well done Bilal and we wish you all the best for your next adventures.”
Every year, FindAMaster’s calls for applications from around the United Kingdom from Masters Students. It then selects the best candidates based on their nominations, experiences, leadership qualities and academic achievements.
Bilal Bin Saqib also worked as a Post Graduate Students’ Officer 2018-19 at the London School of Economics. As a part of this position, he represented 7,000 students at both local and international levels.
Bilal informed media that the award meant a lot to him as it celebrated not only his academic experience but also the experiences that he gained throughout the year. “This year my goal has not just been on self-learning but also on making an impact among the students’ community at LSE campus,” he said.
He added, "From getting invited by the CEO of Audemars Piguet to hosting Alexandre Arnault, Alex Partridge, Sadhguru on campus, getting the chance to meet other notable personalities from all over the world, reaching a figure of 40,000 individuals in terms of impact through Tayaba.org - the year 2018-2019 will be marked as one of the most incredible years in my experience diary.”
