Pakistani director Kamal Khan is collaborating with Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy Films (SOC Films) on a series of short films under the banner of HOME1947.
The project that is co-commissioned by the British Council, Manchester International Festival and Super Slow looks at the lives of people during the partition through their eyes.
The first shot Beila, is out and has been uploaded on the SOC Films YouTube page. The film looks at a woman in train and the uncertainty she faces while heading into an unknown future.

The film uses flashbacks of the woman’s life to show how partition had changed her circumstances.
After this, more shorts are to be produced for the series.
