Following the suicide blast near press club in Quetta, that took eight innocent lives on Monday, a complete strike was observed by every segment of life on Tuesday.
Quetta’s mainstream political parties including Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Awami National Party (ANP), Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP), and Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) called the strike to protest against the suicide blast. All shop, markets, shopping malls in the city remained closed throughout the day.
The protestors said that the peaceful people of Quetta are against terrorism and demand restoration of peace not just in the city but in the entire province.
Meanwhile, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) had registered a first information report (FIR) of the suicide attack.
