Rana Sanaullah, PML-N Punjab president, on Tuesday asked Chief of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa to take notice of the fact that the serving army officers work in the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).
“I request the chief of army staff that serving army men work in the ANF. You should take notice of this,” said Rana Sana in connection with the case registered against him, according to which he is accused of transporting drugs including 15 kilograms of heroin.
The senior politician was talking to media persons at the court premises as he was presented before the district and sessions judge.
Addressing Inter-Services Public Relations DG Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor Bajwa, Rana Sana said, “I would ask Gen Asif Bajwa that you had told us when you came to the Parliament for a briefing that we won the war against India by speaking the truth. We have shared the truth with the nation and the truth always prevails. I would ask Gen Asif Ghafoor hasn’t this truth reached him yet.”
The PML-N Punjab president asked the ISPR DG to ascertain this truth too and share it at least with the army chief, if not the nation.
On the other hand, the local court said it would not resume the hearing until the ANF personnel presented the relevant record and adjourned the proceedings for an indefinite period.
During the proceedings, the defence lawyer argued that his client was a target of political vengeance and added that the challan had not been presented so far.
The lawyer said the case’s file as well as the mobile, and medicines of his client had still not been released.
