Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Naeem Bokhari, whose appointment as Chairman of Pakistan Television (PTV) was believed to be in violation of the guidelines, has been restricted from working as the presiding chairman by Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The court came to this decision while hearing two petitions against Bokhari’s appointment as chairman.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah during the hearing commented that the reason why the upper age limit was relaxed to accommodate Bokhari’s appointment should be made clear.
Naeem Bokhari was appointed the PTV chairman in November last year. After the order, the hearing of the case challenging Bokhari’s appointment was adjourned for two weeks.
