Shazia Ishaq, 25, from Bonni, a remote area of Chitral, became the first woman ASP from Malakand Division after passing the CSS exam with distinction.
Shazia Ishaq received her primary education from Upper Chitral and higher education from Islamia College Peshawar, topped in Political Science from the University of Peshawar and passed the CSS exam. Her father is a retired junior officer in the Army.
Shazia was keen to join the police service from the beginning, saying that the presence of a female officer in the police station would make other women feel safe.
She told media that in addition to the welfare of women, she has a desire to play a role in reducing the rising incidents of suicide.
Shazia hails from a village that is deprived of basic amenities even in modern times, but the prayers of her parents proved that women can also do significant work in any field with their hard work.
