Sindh’s coronavirus tally has crossed 100,000 cases after 133 days of the emerging of first case in the province on February 26.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has said that as many as 100,900 coronavirus infections have reported in the province, with a total of 543,400 tests conducted so far. The health authorities tested 9,860 samples on Thursday.
Meanwhile, 40 more patients lost the battle against the deadly virus, raising the death toll in the province to 1,677. The CM also stated that 1,254 more patients have recovered, taking the provincial recovery toll to 57,627, which constituted a 57 per cent of the total cases reported in Sindh.
The fatal virus has claimed 5,058 lives in the country, including 75 deaths in last 24 hours. While 149,092 patients have recovered successfully and have discharged from the hospitals. Moreover, 2,375 patients currently admitted in the hospitals across the country are in critical condition.
The national tally of coronavirus confirmed cases has risen to 243,552 with the provincial governments of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan confirming 85,261, 100,900, 29,406, 11,052 cases respectively. Meanwhile, 1,619 cases in Gilgit-Baltistan, 13,829 in Islamabad, and 1,485 in Kashmir have reported to date.
