Pakistan’s two veteran actors Samina Ahmed and Manzar Sehbai tied the knot in a closed private Nikah ceremony in Lahore on Saturday. The newly-wed couple has proved the fact that it’s never too late to find a right person in life.
Samina Ahmed is a legendary veteran actor, who has been working in Pakistani media industry for more than 50 years. Samina has performed for many PTV’s major successful drama series, including Waris, Alif Noon and Family Front. For her contributions towards the country’s television industry, she was honoured by the Government of Pakistan with the Pride of Performance in 2011. Samina Ahmed became the widow of filmmaker Fariduddin Ahmed in 1993, and then in one of her projects of Barat Series, she met Manzar accidently. At that time nobody knew that a day would come when both old friends would get married.
Manzar Sehabi is also a seasoned actor, who has been a part of many dramas serials. The legendary actor made his film debut in Sohaib Mansoor’s blockbuster film BOL, for which he won Lux Style Awards and SAARC Film Awards. In 2013, he appeared in Zinda Bhaag, Pakistan's entry for Best Foreign Language Film in 2013's Academy Awards. The fans of Manzar Sehabi loved his acting in the ongoing drama serial Alif, in which Manzar played the character of a Turkish Calligrapher.
