The now Prime Minister Imran Khan was once one of the world’s finest cricketers during his days and a legend of the game now.
There are reasons why he became so successful e.g. he was always determined to do the impossible and loved challenges. You would often hear him speak in his speeches about how as a 9-year-old, he was told he could not play cricket.
Fast forward some 6 decades, he not only played cricket, but made sure he retired as one of the greatest stars in history.
Here are 5 moments in Imran Khan’s cricket career when he was invincible
1992 World Cup

Khan steered Pakistan from possible elimination (thanks to the circumstances too) to becoming the World Champions for the first and only time in 1992.
For a cricket crazy nation, the year will always remain as the most iconic one in the country’s sporting history and that is why Pakistan loves Khan.
3000 runs and 300 wickets in Tests
There are only a few people in Test cricket who have achieved this feat. With 3,807 friends and 362 wickets in 88 Test matches, Khan is only among 8 players in the world to have achieved the feat.
First Captain To Win Test Series In India
Imran Khan also has the privilege to call himself the first Pakistani captain to win a Test series in India. He did it in year 1986-87.

Pakistan managed to win the 5-match Test series 1-0. After the first 4 Test matches ended in draw, Pakistan managed to win the last one by 16 runs winning a Test series on Indian soil for the first time.
And guess who was voted Man Of The Series? Yuppppp! Imran Khan.
Series Draw Against West Indies
Pakistan faced West Indies in 1987/88. The Windies had not lost a Test Match in 10 years, but it was during Imran Khan’s captaincy that history was made again.

The 5 match series ended in 1-1 draw and could have gone Pakistan’s way if not for some controversial decisions by the umpires. Nonetheless, Imran Khan bagged 23 wickets.
14/6 Against India In Sharjah
This was arguably one of the best bowling spells by Imran Khan. He sent 6 of the Indian batting powerhouses back to the pavilion.
Among the six victims of Khan’s magical bowling were Ravi Shastri, Kris Srikanth, Sunil Gavaskar, DB Vengsarkar, M Amarnath and Madan Lal.
