News channel Samaa TV is facing backlash on social media for allegedly practicing racism in its coverage of the coronavirus crisis. In one of its news bulletins, the channel referred to the Sindh government as 'sayeen sarkar' (Sayeen kingdom). The term 'Sayeen' is used in Sindh as a mark of respect for elders, but the channel appeared to have used it as a racist slur. Social media users were unamused by the channel's attempt to demean the Sindhi cultire and recorded their protest using the hastag #SindhRejectsSamaaTV
