17 policemen in Landi Kotal, Khyber, were removed for their services and 50 others were suspended on by a district police chief for their alleged involved in corruption.
The office of district police officer in Shah Kas Levies Centre Jamrud issued a statement saying that Muhammad Iqbal took action against the policeman after receiving complaints against them. He also decided on removing and suspending the ones involved, after discussions with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IGP Sanaullah Abbasi.
The statement said that the action was taken on the various checkposts of Jamrud and Landi Kotal postings after their involvement in the corruption.
It also said that there will be no tolerance for 'black sheep' in the Khyber police forces. Any officer having connections with drug trafficking, corruption, and numerous other illegal cases, will be taken under inquiry until the law acts upon the suspects.
