Pakistan Says Qasim Suleimani's Killing Threatens Regional Peace
Pakistan has reacted to the killing of Iranian General Qasim Suleimani in a US airstrike and noted that the move threatens peace and stability. According to journalist Baqir Sajjad, Islamabad has called for avoiding unilateral actions and use of force.

Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari has urged the UNSG to defuse the situation, adding that the killing has 'in an instant ipped the military ante in the region'. The minister further said that it was in no one's interest to have a war in an already volatile region.

Iran’s elite Quds force head Qasim Soleimani was killed in a US airstrike in Baghdad, Iraq on Friday. The attack targeted a vehicle near Baghdad Airport. Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, vice president of Iraq’s Hashd al-Shaabi group, or Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) also lost his life in the attack.
