Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is to be provided with jail facilities similar to those enjoyed by former president Zardari according to an order by the accountability court.
According to a report in Express Tribune, Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir heard the application for provision of facilities to Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
The application had called for a separate place in jail to be provided to Shahid Khaqan, along with a cook who would prepare his meals in line with doctors’ advice.
Abbasi’s sister had also asked for her brother to be allowed to buy newspapers and books at his own expense.
Furthermore, the request also included names of thirteen persons who should be allowed to visit Shahid Khaqan.
The former prime minister is presently in jail on judicial remand in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) custody. He had been arrested in a case related to awarding of a Liquefied Natural Gas import contract.

The application had called for a separate place in jail to be provided to Shahid Khaqan, along with a cook who would prepare his meals in line with doctors’ advice.
Moreover, the application also requested the provision of an air-conditioner, a refrigerator, a television, a tea kettle, an oven, a chair, a computer and printer, and two assistants from the jail.
