This is the second time since 2016 that the Pakistan Navy has detected an Indian submarine trying to enter Pakistani waters.
Pakistan territorial waters are 12 nautical miles while its seabed territory — the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) — grew to 290,000 square kilometres in 2015.
Tensions between Pakistan and India are high since the Pulwama Attack. Last week on Tuesday, Indian Air Force jets intruded into Pakistan’s territory and dropped payload near Balakot.

Indian forces have also resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LOC) resulting in deaths of civilians and security officials.
