Prime Minister Imran Khan's ex-wife Jemima Goldsmith has strongly reacted to Pakistan Muslim League - N (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz's antisemitic statement, saying that she had to leave Pakistan in 2004 due to such attacks by media and politicians.
In a tweet, Goldsmith wrote: “I left Pakistan in 2004 after a decade of antisemitic attacks by the media and politicians.” She further said that she had been receiving death threats and protests outside her house at the time. "But still it continues," she added.

During her speech at a public rally in Azad Kashmir ahead of the polls, Maryam Nawaz had responded to Prime Minister Imran Khan's remarks about the former's son Junaid Safdar. Imran Khan had criticised former prime minister and PML-N supremo's participation in his grandson Junaid Safdar's polo matches in London. "He is Nawaz Sharif’s grandson, not Goldsmith’s. he’s not being raised in the lap of Jews," Maryam had said in response to Khan's remarks.
