3 Including Woman Killed In The Name Of 'Honour' In Khyber District
Thee people including a woman were shot dead in the name of 'honour' in Tirah valley of the Khyber district on Tuesday. The slain woman was a family member of the killers.

The male victims taught at a private school teacher. One of them was gunned down on his way home, while another teacher was critically injured in the firing and later succumbed to his wounds at the clinic. Later, the attackers killed a woman of their family inside her house after accusing her of having relations with one of the slain schoolteachers.

Police have reportedly registered a case and an investigation has been launched.

Killing in the name of 'honour' is a frequent occurrence in Pakistan, and is often justified in the name of religion. According to Human Rights Commission Pakistan (HRCP)'s annual report on the state of human rights in the country 430 cases of 'honour' killings were reported in the year 2020.

HRCP registered a rise in complaints of domestic and online violence, indicating the increased vulnerability of women during the pandemic as HRCP recorded 430 cases of honour killing in 2020, involving 148 male and 363 female victims” the annual report highlighted.
