Global Firepower Index is a platform that provides a unique analytical display of data concerning 138 modern military powers. The GFP ranking is based on each nation's potential war-making capability across land, sea, and air fought by conventional means.
In the list released last week, Pakistan Army is among the world’s 10 most powerful militaries in the world. Pakistan ranks above Canada, Germany and Australia. In the top three are United States, Russia and China respectively. The top ten also includes South Korea, United Kingdom and India.
The ranking was done taking into consideration a total of 55 factors including the diversity of each country’s weapons, manpower, population, geography and state of development. All militaries analysed are given a PwrIndex score. The perfect PwrIndex score is 0.000 but no country has ever achieved it and most probably no country ever will. However, the closer the country is to the number, the most powerful their army is.
