Bill Gates Acknowledges Pakistan's Covid Success

Microsoft founder Bill Gates lauded Pakistan’s efforts to combat the coronavirus infections.

In an interview to the CNN, he said Pakistan fought the pandemic successfully when compared to India and Europe. “One would have to admit that Pakistan achieved this success thanks to its excellent expertise,” noted Bill Gates.

The remarks came as the coronavirus in Pakistan continued to remain under control as the country reported only 539 new cases in the past 24 hours, as per the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC).

His comments followed similar remarks by a UN official, who had termed Pakistan's response to the pandemic 'best in the world'.

UNGA President-elect Volkan Bozkir had termed Pakistan’s strategy to contain coronavirus infection a ‘good example’ for the world to follow. “Pakistan has been a good example for the world with its pandemic-related policies. The figures show that Pakistan has done better than other countries in the world and I am happy to observe it with my own eyes,” the president-elect who arrived in Islamabad earlier in the day on a two-day official visit had said.
