Zero Covid-19 Deaths Reported In Punjab For First Time In 2 Months

Punjab Health Department said that the province reported zero news Covid-19 deaths on Monday for the first time since May 26.

According to the provincial Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, Punjab reported 172 new cases of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed infections to 92,279.

The district-wise breakdown of the fresh coronavirus cases stated that 57 cases were reported in Lahore, one case in Sheikhupura, 10 in Rawalpindi, Jhelum three, Attock 1, and 12 cases were reported in Gujranwala. Six new COVID-19 cases were reported in Sialkot, one in Narowal, 9 in Bahawalpur, 10 in Multan, six in Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh one and six cases were reported in Rahim Yar Khan.

The death toll in the province stands at 2,116. As many as 10 more Covid-19 patients have recovered, taking the number of recoveries to 81,263 in the province. Moreover, the health authorities in Punjab have conducted overall 699,636 virus tests so far.

The fatal virus has claimed 5,865 lives in the country, while 242,436 people have recovered successfully and discharged from the hospitals.

The national toll of coronavirus is 275,202 with the provincial governments of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan confirming 92,279, 118,824, 22,510, and 11,601 cases respectively. While 14,938 cases are reported in Islamabad, 2,010 in GB, and 2,040 in AJK.
