Punjab Covid-19 Cases Drop To Less Than 300 First Time Since May
Amid a smart lockdown across the province, the number of positive coronavirus cases is on the decline. Punjab reported mere 253 cases for the first time since May 22, taking the provincial tally to 90,444.

According to the government's Covid-19 database, seven people died of the corona over the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 2,090. More than 66,000 people have recovered from the virus in the province.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government has imposed lockdown in four more cities of the province. In a notification, it said several areas in Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Gujrat, and Gujranwala will remain under a lockdown till July 27.

In Rawalpindi, W-3 Wah Cantt, W-8 Wah Cantt, and UC Saray e Kala will remain sealed. In Gujrat, Muhallah Kalapura, Chah Taringh, Gujrat City, and Village Madina Sayedan will be under lockdown.

In Gujranwala, the smart lockdown will be enforced in Nandipur Town, Aroop, and Qila Didar Singh areas. While Chak Kalan Ladhar and Town Ghazipur will remain sealed in Sialkot.

According to the notification, all markets, restaurants, malls, and offices in the areas will remain closed while grocery shops will be allowed to open from 9am to 7pm. Pharmacies and medical services will continue to be open 24 hours a day.
