Similarly, on Sunday, participants jointed a packed funeral of renowned scholar Mufti Naeem, without any regard to the social distancing SOPs. From the photo of the gathering, it could also be seen that several people among the participants were not even wearing the mandatory face masks.

Just last week, on Thursday, the government enforced a two-week "smart lock-down" in various residential areas of Karachi, earlier identified to be the 'corona virus hot-spots'. The same day, the province saw its highest death toll due to the pandemic so far, touching the mark of 50. The restriction is to remain in place until July 2, in order to contain the spread and bring normalcy in the city.

However, according to news reports, the shops in the affected areas remained open without any regard to the SOPs. Some of the shops in the large markets were also seen operating. The residents in the areas too didn't seem to pay attention to the directives.

According to the latest statistics, the number of confirmed cases in Sindh stands at 71,092 amid rising calls for a complete adherence to the lock-down directives.
