DG ISPR Disowned Cynthia Ritchie, Claims Anchor
Journalist Arshad Sharif claimed that Director General Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar has denied any ‘direct’ relation and ‘work contract’ with Islamabad-based American blogger Cynthia Ritchie.

Arshad Sharif on his show on ARY News, said that his team contacted the DG ISPR to confirm the US blogger’s claim in her letter to FIA that he done collaborative projects with ‘military’ and other security agencies of Pakistan. Upon asking, Major General Babar Iftikhar ‘categorically’ said: “We [army] doesn’t have direct relation or any work contract with Cynthia,” according to the journalist.

The army’s spokesperson, although, said that she was facilitated in the past because she was making a documentary to project Pakistan’ positive image in international media.

Previously, Cynthia claimed in her written statement to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) that she has been investigating PTM for the last two years “with the assistance of supporting agencies and military”.

The US blogger said: “In this process [investigating PTM] our teams have found links of ant-state activities between PTM and PPP.” She further claimed in her statement that she had worked closely with Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), female commandos in KP, highways and motorways police, military, and National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA).
