The notice directed the channels to show cause within 14 days and tender apology for airing false news “without any editorial check/verification”.

On Sunday, social media was abuzz with rumors that several international airlines, including Kuwait Airways, have stopped Pakistani pilots and engineering staff from working after the reports that Pakistan has grounded 262 pilots holding ‘fake’ licenses.

In response to these rumors, Kuwait Airways issued a clarification statement on Twitter saying that the news being circulated on media that the airline had terminated the services of Pakistani pilots wasn’t true. The clarification noted that currently no Pakistani pilot was an employee of Kuwait Airways.
