‘Make Ahmadis Accept Non-Muslim Status Before Inclusion In Minority Commission’: PA Tells Federal Govt
The Punjab Assembly on Tuesday demanded the federal government to include Ahmadis in National Commission for Minorities, only if their chief submits in writing that the minority religious community accepts the constitution of Pakistan and their status as non-Muslims.

DAWN reported that Provincial Minister for Mines and Minerals Hafiz Ammar Yasir tabled a resolution in this regard that was adopted by the House unanimously. The resolution said: “This august House appreciates the federal cabinet for not including Qadianis in the Minorities Commission because neither the Qadianis recognise the Constitution of Pakistan nor they proclaim themselves as non-Muslims.”

The resolution noted that the issue of finality of Prophet Muhammad PBUH has been raised many times in a last few years. “Sometimes Hajj form is amended and at others the word of Khatamu al-Nabiyyan (SAW) is omitted from books. But no action was ever taken against these conspiracies. Pakistan is an Islamic country but we have to beg for the protection of sanctity of Namoos-i-Risalat [protection of prophethood]. It’s a matter of shame for all of us.”

The tabled resolution further noted that other religious minorities, including Hindus, Sikhs and Christians were given representation in the minorities commission without any objection, because any of them don’t declare themselves as Muslims.

“The issue of Khatm-e-Nabuwwat is a red line for us. Nothing is dearer to us than protection of Khatm-e-Nabuwwat, protection of Namoos-i-Risalat (SAW), protection of Namoos-i-Ashab-e-Rasool, protection of Namoos-i-Ahle Baet, and protection of Namoos-i-Ummahat al-Momineen (Rizwanullah Ajmaeen). We’re ready to sacrifice everything for it and none must have any qualms about it,” concludes the resolution.

Speaker Punjab Assembly Pervaiz Elahi, while addressing the lawmakers on the occasion, said: “We all are the protectors of the honour of Holy Prophet PBUH as it is an integral part of the faith of every Muslim.”
