CM Murad Calls On Public To Observe Simplicity On Eid
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that people should observe simplicity this Eid as the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases has reached 20,000.

In a press conference held in Karachi, he asked people not to travel to their villages, as the medical facilities in the rural areas will not be able to bear the brunt of a disease outbreak.

He further asked people not to go shopping for new clothes, saying that he would also not wear new clothes on Eid.

Seven doctors in Sindh have succumbed to the novel coronavirus so far, Shah said. While paying tribute to the late doctors, he said that until now, 364 healthcare professionals have been infected by the virus.

The chief minister further said that 274 policemen were infected, out of which 50 have recovered. Five officials have passed away, he said.

He also said that markets have reopened but that would probably also increase the number of cases. "The effect of easing this lockdown will be seen in 14 days," he said, while adding that the Sindh government was continuously working to increase healthcare facilities.

He also said that contrary to some opinions on the performance of Sindh Government, he believes that the people of Sindh had shown people the way forward in this pandemic.
