'I Want To Die In My Own Country': Meera Stranded In New York, Seeks PM's Help
Film actress Meera has said that she is stranded in New York and has no means of surviving anymore. She requested Prime Minister Imran Khan to help make arrangements for her return to Pakistan from New York.

In a video that she released on social media, Meera explains how she, along with Humayun Saeed and some other film stars, was visiting New York for the shooting of a project. However, everyone else returned, and only Meera is still stranded in New York.

She fearfully accepts that people are dying in thousands every day in New York. “I want to die in my own country,” she laments.

In the heartfelt video, she also explains how she is left with no more savings and has no other means of surviving in one of the most expensive cities of the United States of America.

A lot of celebrities including Mohib Mirza, Shamoon Abbasi, Sanam Saeed and others have appealed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their safe return back to Pakistan from their film shoot destinations, and some have successfully been brought back. However, hundreds of Pakistanis are still stranded abroad due to the sealed airspace during the coronavirus pandemic.
