4 Alleged Al Qaeda Terrorists Arrested In Karachi
Four alleged terrorists associated with Al-Qaeda were arrested in a joint operation by Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Sindh police’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar area on Sunday.

A SIU’S Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Syed Irfan Bahadur said that explosive materials, hand grenades, weapons, and various other items were recovered from the detained suspects. “The alleged terrorists were trained in Afghanistan. They had already marked certain sensitive locations as their future targets,” the SSP added.

According to law enforcement agencies, the suspects were identified as Muhammad Umar, Muhammad Bilal alias Fida, Muhammad Waseem and Muhammad Amir. The suspects, during the initial interrogation, revealed that they were led by Muhammad Hanif alias Zarrar Ayub, who is currently in Afghanistan.

Following the development, the authorities seized remote controls, improvised explosive device receivers, hand grenades, Kalashnikovs and other weapons based on the confessions of the alleged terrorists.

The government officials confirmed that the terrorists had recently arrived in Karachi after receiving training in Afghanistan. They reportedly claimed that their other accomplices were also hiding in Karachi, who had facilitated them with money, conveyance and shelter in the city.
