National Assembly Turns Into Fight Club After Minister Refers To Asif Zardari As ‘Mr 10pc’
The National Assembly (NA) became a fighting club on Wednesday, when Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan referred to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairperson and former president Asif Ali Zardari as “Mr 10 per cent”.

According to a news report published in The Express Tribune, Omar Ayub, while giving his speech, referred to the former president as “Mr 10 per cent”, that invoked the opposition benches, especially the lawmakers belonging to PPP. Subsequently, the legislators crowded around Khan’s seat, tore up the agenda document and began sloganeering against the Imran Khan-led government.

The incident happened when the minister took the floor of House to respond to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s criticism of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s economic policies.

The PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while responding to the minister’s remarks, said “the treasury benches only respond in abuses.”

Deputy Speaker NA Qasim Khan Suri had adjourned the session till Thursday, following the deterioration of the House’s decorum.
