Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Bollywood and Hollywood content is responsible for a rising divorce rate and surge in sex crimes in Pakistan. "The audience in Pakistan which consumes content from Hollywood and Bollywood does not realise how much of a threat it is to our civilization", the PM added.
He also said that family system in Pakistan is breaking as a result of this content and the divorce rate is rising. "This vulgarity and permissive culture is directly impacting our family system," he said.
Khan expressed these views last week while talking to Youtubers and bloggers at his Bani Gala residence in Islamabad. A video of his talk has recently emerged on social media where it has generated debate.
