CM Usman Buzdar Pushes Back Against Fawad Chaudhry's Remarks On The Treasury
Punjab's Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has responded to criticism by the federal minister of science and technology Fawad Chaudhry about his handling of the treasury. CM Buzdar stated:
“We have done away with the culture of extravagant and reckless spending by showoffs. We consider the government's Treasury a trust of the nation.”

Contrasting his own attitude with what he perceives as that of the previous government, the CM noted that earlier administrations had treated the treasury as if it were something “free” but the current leadership understood its responsibilities in this regard.

“Unnecessary expenditures have been curtailed to a great extent,” the CM added.

Buzdar's response come in the wake of a tweet by Fawad Chaudhry, in which he opined that the chief ministers' discretion over funds was a violation of Article 140-A of the Constitution, which addresses local government and responsibilities of the provinces.

Chaudhry had expressed his view that:
“The provinces should distribute funds to their districts the same way the centre distributes them to the provinces.
