Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmed Seth has said that he was unaware of the prevailing circumstances as he only watched wrestling on television.
According a report in Express.pk, PHC CJ Waqar Seth, who was leading the special court that gave the death sentence to former president General (r) Musharraf for high treason, made these remarks during a hearing today.
While a court hearing was underway, a lawyer paid tribute to the judge and praised the fact that the latter was confident despite the 'tough circumstances'.
The judge responded, in a sarcastic manner, that he was unaware of the circumstances and everything was fine when he had come to the court in the morning. He added that he did not know what was happening as he only watched wrestling on the television.
On Thursday, the government had announced that it would be filing a reference against the judge in the Supreme Judicial Council.
