Lahore: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has refused to eat jail food. In a supposed hunger strike, Nawaz Sharif has refused to eat food prepared by jail authorities after homemade meals were stopped for Sharif.
In a tweet, daughter of the former Prime Minister and Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League, Maryam Nawaz reported Sharif`s refusal to eat jail food on Monday noon when he (Nawaz Sharif) learned that employees of the Sharif family had brought food for him but the jail authorities refused to deliver it.
Maryam said in her tweet that she would not only move the Lahore High Court but also wage a sit-in protest outside the jail if the ban on homemade food on Nawaz Sharif was not lifted within 24 hours.

“Mian Sahab has refused to eat prison food. If they [the government] do not take back this restriction in the next 24 hours, then I will approach the court.”
“If I don’t get help from the court, then I will sit outside Kot Lakhpat jail. Even if I have to go on a hunger strike, I will do it,” she warned in another tweet.
“I don’t trust these oppressors, they can mix anything in Mian sahab’s food,” she said, adding her warning should not be considered a mere threat and that she would go through with it.
