FIR Lodged Against Teacher Who Made Pre-School Student Eat Grass As Punishment
A First Information Report (FIR) was lodged against a teacher of Government Primary School in Fatehpur for allegedly making a pre-school student eat grass as punishment.

A video went viral on social media, showing seven-year-old Kashan, a student of pre-school, being forced to either eat grass or read out the lesson in front of his class fellows. The kid forgot his lesson after which the teacher punished him.

The incident happened two days back and the teacher is working in the school on a contract basis. Muhammad Asghar, the father of Kashan, said that the teacher was a relative and that he did it as a joke.

However, an FIR was filed against the teacher, Hamid, on the complaint of Asghar at Jalla Arain Police Station. However, Asghar told Dawn that he would forgive the teacher in court as well. The police conducted a raid at his house to arrest him and he was not home.

Lodhran education chief executive officer Abdul Razzaq said that he would look into the matter and order a thorough probe.

In April, two teachers from an Abbottabad government school were arrested and sent to jail on Friday by a judicial magistrate after a video surfaced of them allegedly administering corporal punishment to a girl, police said.
