Asma Jan Mohammad has won the Chartered Accountant Woman of the Year award for the year 2019. The Dubai-based Pakistani received the award from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) in Islamabad.
President Arif Alvi presented the award to Asma Jan. The Chartered Accountant Woman Awards are aimed at celebrating and honouring outstanding female professionals. For this prestigious award, winners are selected by an independent jury based on pre-defined criteria from names nominated by the CA members.
Asma, who has been living and working in Dubai for the past 12 years, has been working as a Chartered Accountant for the past 14 years in diverse fields. She is currently working with Jamal Al Ghurair group as Manager Financial Planning & Strategy, and is also the Chairperson of the Managing Committee of UAE Chapter of ICAP members .
“The aim of the award is to encourage women to work in this field which is heavily dominated by men as only eight per cent of the more than 8000 Pakistani chartered accountant are women,” Asma was quoted as saying by Gulf News.
Asma also received the prestigious Most Professional Accountancy by Women Entrepreneurship Forum Dubai.
Last week, Model Town investigation wing head Anoosh Masood Chaudhry topped the performance test aimed at judging the performance of the senior supervisory police officers.
Superintendent Police (SP) Anoosh secured 1st position among the SPs of all six divisions of the provincial capital by scoring 346 marks, 23 more than second ranked SP Shahnawaz Khan. City Division SP Irshad Naveed secured third place with a total of 299 marks.
